Spotlights

Arkansas Tech University Symphonic Wind Ensemble
Daniel A. Belongia, conductor

“Spotlights” by the Arkansas Tech University Symphonic Wind Ensemble showcases on-campus talent and off-campus collaboration. This is the fifth album ATU SWE under the leadership of Daniel A. Belongia and opens with the return of friend and composer James Syler, whose Symphony No. 2 was featured on the ensemble’s debut album. Syler’s new saxophone concerto “Birds of Paradise” is expertly played by the ensemble and ATU faculty member Nathan Mensink. Mensink is also featured on the next track, “Dialogue”, written by ATU faculty member Philip Parker. The album continues with ATU’s own Evan Mino, professor of horn, featured on composer Catherine’s Likhutra’s “Sure-Fire.”.
