“Illustrious” by the Arkansas Tech University Symphonic Wind Ensemble showcases on-campus talent and off-campus collaboration. This is the sixth album by ATU SWE under the leadership of Daniel A. Belongia and opens with "Fantasy of Colors” by new collaborator, composer Paul Dooley. This is followed by the much-anticipated 17-minute “Sideman” by composer Mason Bates, featuring faculty professor Dr. Cory Fica support by the entire percussion section. The album concludes with “Sunflower Studies”in five movements by powerhouse band composer Nicole Piunno, a 19-minute journey through more illustrious colors.
