Daniel Lelchuk, cello, is renowned worldwide as both a cellist and a communicator. His performances have graced numerous international festivals, including those in Aspen, Baden-Baden, Hawaii, Colorado, the Minnesota Lakes Area, Silicon Valley, and Salzburg. He has appeared as guest cellist with the Qatar Philharmonic, guest principal cellist of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Jalisco, cellist with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería (Mexico City), and principal cellist of the Royal Opera House Muscat (Oman). For a decade, Lelchuk served as Associate Principal Cellist of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the New Orleans Opera Association, appointed by Music Director Carlos Miguel Prieto. At the invitation of Prince Nicolò Boncompagni Ludovisi, he presented a celebrated series of solo cello recitals at the historic Villa Aurora in Rome.
Aidan Vass (b. 2003), composer and also pianist for this recording, is a composer of contemporary classical music. He was a composer fellow with the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Nancy and Barry M. Sander’s Fellowship Program from 2018-2021, where he had the honor of studying under Andrew Norman, Sarah Gibson and Thomas Kotcheff. As a fellow, he composed music for ensembles such as the American Youth Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, members of the Los Angeles Master Chorale and the USC Thornton Edge ensemble, among others.
